Why I Coach
I came to coaching not because I had it all figured out — but because I didn’t. On paper, I had what most people would call success, but I felt unfulfilled and disconnected. I didn’t really know who I was, and that was a lonely place to live from.
Coaching changed that. It opened the door to understanding myself, to discovering how I operate, what matters to me, and how to live and lead from who I truly am — not from what the world expects.
I am deeply grateful to those who have coached and mentored me, and to the schools I’ve studied at — especially Accomplishment Coaching where I learnt to trust and believe in myself as a coach.
That’s why I coach.
What lights me up is witnessing those moments when something clicks for someone — when they see themselves differently, realise something meaningful, and reconnect with their own wisdom. That moment of insight, that soft smile, the shift in their eyes — when they say, “I never saw it that way” — that’s why I do this work.
My coaching is about helping people get to know themselves. Because we’re not born with an instruction manual on how to be human, let alone how to be ourselves. Through coaching, I help people uncover who they are, how they operate, and what truly matters to them — so they can lead, live, and relate from a place of clarity and presence.
What saddens me most is how disconnected we can become — from ourselves and from others. When people don’t know themselves, they react, defend, blame, or project. It impacts how they lead, how they treat people, how they show up in the world. As Maya Angelou said, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
I believe coaching can change that — by helping people lead themselves first, with awareness, care, and courage.
If I could tell you one thing, it’s this:

Rita Curtis, PCC
Hi, I’m Rita Curtis, PCC — a leadership coach, mentor, and educator devoted to helping people lead from the inside out. I believe that who you are shapes how you lead, and the most meaningful transformations begin at the level of identity, values, and inner alignment.
Before stepping fully into coaching, I spent over 15 years in corporate leadership, training, and development—guiding individuals and teams across a wide range of industries. My experience spans from supporting parents to mentoring executives in the C-suite, and what’s remained true in every space is this: people thrive when they feel safe, seen, and supported.
I hold a Master’s degree in Leadership and Management (MSML), and I’m a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with training in leadership, family systems, holistic coaching, and intuitive development. I’m the Co-Founder of Above the Line Academy and Above Coaching, where I also serve as Director of Education. My work blends structure and soul—bringing clarity, care, and emotional intelligence into the coaching space.
Clients often describe me as heart-led, grounded, and gently powerful. I’m known for helping people come home to themselves—so they can lead with more courage, communicate with greater ease, and create lives and relationships that reflect their deepest values.
